Brad Miles is a Managing Director based in New York and leads the firm’s life sciences communications practice. He brings over 20 years of experience leading groundbreaking communications strategies for biopharma companies developing new, advanced approaches to treating diseases.

Prior to joining Solebury Strategic Communications in 2018, Brad ran BMC Communications, LLC, a boutique communications firm he started in 1997 focused on advising Life Sciences companies through complex clinical and regulatory milestones as well as financial and M&A transactions.

Recent engagements and highlights include:

  • Led strategy for high profile launch of a new biotech company with $75 million Series A financing round
  • Advised on communications around multi-billion-dollar global partnership agreement
  • Led communications strategy for late-stage clinical data results at a leading medical congress for pharma/biotech collaboration
  • Advised global biopharma company through successful Initial Public Offering on NASDAQ
  • Led corporate repositioning of a leading immuno-oncology company

Prior to founding BMC, Brad spent seven years at the specialized healthcare communications agency Ted Klein & Company (TK&C) in New York City, working with clients including Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Marion Merrell Dow (Sanofi-Aventis), Bristol-Myers Squibb and Cephalon.

Brad received a B.A. in Mass Communications from Grand Valley State University. He lives in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City with his wife and son.

Amy Bonanno is a Managing Director on the Life Sciences Corporate Communications team. She is instrumental in leading account teams and developing and executing client campaigns and strategies around significant financial and clinical milestones, as well as product launches. A journalist by training, Amy seeks new and creative ways to communicate complex stories. Over the course of her career, she has spearheaded the content creation and production of more than a dozen corporate and disease-awareness websites in addition to scientific illustrations, animations, and explainer videos.

Previously, Amy worked at BMC Communications and in television news production at CBS News. She also has experience in local television news production and headed up a public affairs segment for several years as well as product radio news for local NPR stations. It was her interest in health-related news topics that led her to her career in life sciences communications.

Amy holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She currently lives in Charleston, SC with her husband.

Michael is a Managing Director based in New York, and joined the firm in 2021. Prior to joining Solebury Strategic Communications, Michael was a Senior Analyst at Chardan Capital Markets, covering biotechnology companies with a focus on diabetes, NASH and other metabolic diseases. Previously, he was a Senior Biotech Analyst at Credit Suisse, where he covered oncology and NASH following a role as a senior associate on the US major pharma team.

Prior to entering equity research, Michael spent 15 years as an academic researcher. He studied CNS control of feeding behavior and metabolism as a post-doc at Columbia University, and he received his Ph.D. in neuroscience from Vanderbilt University studying RNA editing.

Xuan has over 12 years of experience in investor relations, investment banking, and equity research. He is based in the San Francisco office and head of the firm’s West Coast practice. Since joining the firm in 2014, Xuan has led numerous strategic advisories, planning, and execution of investor relations and communications programs for private and public life sciences companies focused on oncology, autoimmune, fibrotic, infectious, and orphan diseases. He has worked on various client engagements for private financings, IPOs, Investor & Analyst/R&D Days, earnings preparation, clinical trials data releases, regulatory approvals, and product launches. Xuan is also responsible for leading corporate access on the West Coast for the firm’s broader client base.

Previous and ongoing assignments include:

  • Completion of a crossover financing, pre-IPO preparation, IPO execution, revers merger, and implementation of public company investor relations plans for multiple companies focused on the treatment of cancer, fibrosis, and pain management
  • Pre-IPO preparation, IPO execution, and corporate messaging, positioning, and branding for the first China based biotech company to go public on the Nasdaq
  • Completion a successful business combination of a clinical stage AI drug discovery company and a SPAC

Prior to joining Solebury Strategic Communications, Xuan spent three years in investment and merchant banking at Morgan Joseph TriArtisan, where he advised on mergers and acquisitions, executed on private placements, conducted due diligence, and performed financial valuation analysis for middle market technology and healthcare companies. In addition, Xuan spent three years in sell-side equity research at Collins Stewart (acquired by Canaccord Genuity) and Canaccord Adams. He holds Series 7, 63, and 79 securities licenses.

Xuan holds a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Managerial Studies from Vanderbilt University.

Alexandra Roy joined Solebury Strategic Communications in 2020, bringing over 10 years of experience in business development, asset management, and investor relations. Alexandra works closely with clients to help them achieve their investor relations goals, and provide them with access to Boston’s investment community.

Previously, Alexandra worked at Wellington Management in Boston on their institutional business development team within the Global Relationship Group, communicating the firm’s “best in class” strategies to large pension funds and foundations. Prior to Wellington, she spent time running the Investor Relations agenda at renewable energy solution firm, Plug Power (NASDAQ: PLUG), where she led the investor communication re-brand, and planned and coordinated several investor roadshows. She has also worked as a multi-asset investment strategist on BlackRock’s defined contribution team in New York. 

Alexandra has a B.A. in Quantitative Economics from Tufts University and is proficient in Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys Latin dancing, reading a good mystery novel, golfing, hiking, and tennis.

Casey is instrumental in the logistical planning and execution of all life science events for Solebury Strategic Communications. She has led the organization of over 20 KOL events, 15 investor & analyst days and five conferences in both the US and abroad. She also heads the logistics of the firm’s largest self-run conference, the annual Solebury Strategic Communications Management Access event, which runs in parallel with the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco. Casey manages the meeting rooms and accommodation for 100+ attending clients and projects as well as co-manages the support team during the four-day conference. She joined the firm in 2015.

Prior to joining Solebury Strategic Communications, Casey was the Assistant Global Buyer for Nikki Beach Worldwide in Miami and began her career as a sales assistant for an internationally renowned, upscale swimwear brand. Casey graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Advertising and a concentration in Business Administration. In her free time, she loves to travel, read and explore new restaurants in NYC.

William supports the life sciences investor relations team. He works on corporate strategy and investor relations for both public and private biotechnology companies throughout all stages of development.

Before joining Solebury Strategic Communications, William co-founded a medical device start-up in the GI space and served as their VP of Legal & Regulatory Affairs. He also worked on cortical plasticity and brain-machine interface at the Nicolelis Lab at Duke University.

William graduated from Duke University in 2017 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a Chemistry minor. He also obtained a Master of Science in Law degree from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2019. In his free time, William enjoys hiking, soccer, and playing guitar.

Shabnam joined Solebury Strategic Communications in 2021. She has been advising companies ranging from start-ups to large organizations on strategy, reputation, media, investor relations, IPO and M&A transactions. Shabnam has focused on Life Sciences and Healthcare in the last few years supporting companies from Hutchmed (Hutchison China MediTech), Owlstone Medical, Medicxi, Centessa Pharmaceuticals and Verona Pharma to Arix Bioscience.

Cross-sector experience examples include Aamal Company, Associated British Foods including Primark, GVC Holdings (sports betting and gaming), Lucara Diamond, Tullow Oil (a breadth of transactions), Dragon Oil (advising on the £1.8bn acquisition by ENOC), and Oando Plc (advising on the $1.5bn deal for ConocoPhillips' assets in Nigeria).

Shabnam holds a degree in Law from the University of Sheffield, UK. She enjoys works of fiction, walking her dog along the river and has a qualification to teach Ashtanga Yoga.

Nicole rejoined Solebury Strategic Communications in 2022 from RBC where she was part of the European Corporate Access team. Based in London Nicole originally joined Solebury Strategic Communications in 2012 and is a London based consultant. She has many years’ experience in Financial Services with particular focus on the healthcare sector. Nicole worked for the Goldman Sachs Healthcare Investment Research team, as well as for a hedge fund and a HNWI in the energy sector conducting media research. Liaising with healthcare analysts and specialist investors, Nicole focuses on all aspects of conference and non-deal roadshow organization in Europe. She is involved with day-to-day client activities and logistics, investor targeting to schedule meetings, outreach, ad-hoc events such as Capital Markets days, investor tours, conferences such as the 1×1 management access event in San Francisco, new business, and maintenance of the website conference calendar.

Nicole studied Business and Finance at Nottingham Trent University. In her spare time, she loves to travel, read and cook

Julia graduated from Cornell University in 2018 with a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences and a minor in Business. Previously, Julia held an internship position at Pfizer and has worked in numerous scientific labs as an undergraduate.

In her spare time, Julia enjoys traveling, exploring New York City and cooking.

Before joining Solebury Strategic Communications, Justin worked at Stonegate Capital Partners, an investor relations firm, where he helped assist companies across all sectors in their investor outreach program, with a particular focus in biotech. Prior to that experience, he was a research assistant in a cerebrovascular research laboratory at Southern Methodist University.

Justin graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Exercise Science. In his spare time, Justin enjoys running, hiking, spending time with friends and serving in his community.

Before joining Solebury Strategic Communications, Zara worked as a journalist and television producer in New York covering science, health and human interest.

Zara earned an M.S. in journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 2016. She also holds a B.A. in Philosophy from The Ohio State University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Zara is passionate about social media, multimedia storytelling and public health.

Benny provides support for events such as the Solebury Strategic Communications Management Access Event in San Francisco and the Hamptons CEO Roundtable. He is one of the product developers behind Solebury Strategic Communications’ proprietary event management software system and is responsible for data quality and maintenance. He joined the firm in 2014, when he relocated to the US from Germany.

Prior to his transatlantic move, Benny worked for a German national authorized Apple retailer and as a tennis coach for almost ten years. He studied International Business at Aachen University, the largest technology university in Germany and one of the most renowned in Europe, where he focused on marketing and human resources. In addition to English, Benny is fluent in German and French.  In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, tennis and golf.

Emily White joined Solebury Strategic Communications in 2021, bringing over six years of experience in life sciences investor relations. Emily is based in the San Francisco office.

Previously, Emily worked in investor relations at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (NASDAQ: BMRN), a global biotechnology company that develops and commercializes therapeutics for rare genetic diseases.  In this role, Emily was an instrumental part of the investor relations team, collaborating closely with senior management and helping to execute a proactive investor relations program. Her responsibilities included engaging with analysts and investors to ensure understanding of BioMarin’s story; developing messaging and marketing materials for investor conferences, road shows, earnings calls, clinical data updates, commercial approval announcements, and R&D Days; and maintaining the investor relations website, calendar, and meeting database.

Emily has a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Davis. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring San Francisco.

Apoorva is an associate on the life sciences corporate communications team. She specializes in scientific and investor communications messaging and strategy for both public and private biotechnology companies throughout all stages of development.

Prior to Solebury, Apoorva completed two Co-Op rotations at GSK with the Drug Product and Analytical Operations and Global Demographics and Diversity Teams. Her work focused on creating the operational infrastructure and tactical strategies to support the development of medicines and improve equity within global clinical trials. Most recently, Apoorva was a Medical Affairs Associate at Spero Therapeutics, where she engaged in operational and launch excellence activities for Tebipenem Hbr while building out the medical affairs space.

Apoorva earned an M.Sc. in Biotechnology (Enterprise concentration) from Northeastern University. She also holds a B.Sc. in Public Health from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

In her free time, Apoorva enjoys traveling to new places and exploring different cultures, trying new food and coffee, and experimenting with new musical and literary genres.

Amr supports the life sciences team in New York. He works on corporate strategy and investor relations for both public and private biotechnology companies throughout all stages of development. He joined the firm in 2022.

Before joining Solebury Strategic Communications, Amr has worked with several social media and cryptocurrency companies, expanding their businesses in the MENA region and incorporating creative and innovative methods to improve their product offerings. He graduated from Trinity College in 2022 with a B.S. in Research and Experimental Psychology, where he led several organizations and conducted scientific research with his professors.

Over the past few years, Amr was recognized with several awards, such as the Larry Silver Award for athletic excellence at Trinity and the prestigious King Constantine Medal for community service while attending King’s Academy, the most prominent boarding school in the Middle East.

Amr is also fluent in Arabic and French. He enjoys traveling, hiking, concerts, and exploring restaurants in his spare time.

Prior to joining Solebury Strategic Communications, she worked as a clinical assistant for Generation Next Fertility and as a student worker for Pfizer Oncology in their Global Publications Department.

Sandy graduated from Columbia University, receiving a B.S in Biology and Psychology. While at Columbia, Sandy danced for and was the PR director for Columbia Ballet Collaborative and Artistic Director of Columbia Repertory Ballet.

Sandy continues to dance in her free time and loves to read, practice yoga, watch sitcoms, and cook.

Alexa Lardieri is the Social Media Manager on the Corporate Communications team. She creates and implements social media plans and executes social strategies to raise the profile of Solebury Strategic Communications and its clients. Alexa also works with the Communications team to create content and manage social media accounts.

A journalist by training, Alexa spent six years as a reporter and digital producer, covering everything from health care, international affairs, politics, elections and the COVID-19 pandemic. Most recently, she worked at U.S. News & World Report for five years in their rankings and reviews department and on the breaking news beat.

Alexa holds a B.A. in multi-platform journalism from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism with a minor in Italian. In her free time she enjoys exploring Central Park with her fiancé and dog, discovering hidden gems in New York and traveling.

Rose holds a B.F.A. from Pratt Institute in Communications Design with a Graphic Design Emphasis.

In her free time Rose enjoys crocheting, swimming and diving, and volunteering.

Josh is the lead Web Developer for Solebury Strategic Communications.  With his development and programming expertise and graphic design knowledge, Josh brings client websites to life and ensures that they function on a wide range of devices.  Before joining the firm, Josh ran a web design & development company servicing a wide variety of clients from small businesses to large organizations, working with Solebury Strategic Communications on a contract basis.         

Josh holds a B.A. in Communications Studies with a Studio Art minor from West Chester University and has an A.S. in Interactive Media Design.

In his free time, Josh volunteers as a Scout Leader and enjoys keeping saltwater aquariums, building scale models, and homebrewing.  He currently lives in West Chester, PA with his wife and three sons.

Previously, Emma had nine years of experience as a retail Front End Office Manager in Cleveland, Ohio, where she efficiently managed the front office and handled customer service concerns. Emma graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree with a concentration in English.
